Why We Are Losing "The Battle For Hearts and Minds"

According to the UN, 1.1 billion people around the world lack access to safe drinking water.

Meanwhile, back in the land of plenty, hunger has been eliminated.

This is one of the most disgusting and vile videos I have ever seen. And I've seen a lot. U.S. soldiers taunting thirsty and hungry children. What the f**k is going on? Has every one over there completely lost their minds?

Wow, while I've been lazy, you've been prolific... now, where did I leave my glasses?

"Hearts and Minds" means something far different to the Bush's and their religious war. We think it means trust us, and respect yourselves. They think it means squash them both until they are lifeless.

To them, that is "Victory."

This is the sort of thing I think of when I hear the ever-undefined catchphrase "support the troops." In this case, individual soldiers are making the choice to behave this way. This is what happens when you turn obnoxious punks into armed killing machines and send them around the world to represent the US.

We certainly can't claim to be morally and intellectually superior to ANYONE, although we are led to beleive that we are morally and intellectually superior to EVERYBODY.

That vid makes me cry. For the oppressed and the souls of the oppressors.

War is hell. The President seemed to think it was flowers and liberty.

That is just fucking sick, excuse my language....
Eye opening, I must say, so in a way, thanks. When will Faux Spews be showing this, I wonder?

And poor Kerry was castigated when he made an observation about the standard of many of the current American soldiers. Telling the truth is not encouraged in America (ditto here in OZ).

P.S. Thanks for dropping by and leaving a few words of wisdom, Mel. I think I've got the situation under control again!

To some it's a game, and that video is disgusting and heart wrenching all at the same time.

I sincerely hope those soldiers don't find themselves in need of charity when they return to the states.

I saw this over at Shakes, and I was absolutely disgusted. These guys ARE the reason "they hate us," in a nutshell.

Disgraceful.

Exactly quakerdave.

I'm late getting in, but want to wish Melissa & everyone in here a HAPPY THANKSGIVING. Remember those that can't be with their families today and especially the families that will forever be missing some of theirs because of bush & his LIE!

I linked to you through Kara's page and had to repost this on my blog. That strong child running so hard after something that cannot be owned makes me want to gather them all up and bring them home. We have no shortage of water here. It also makes me want to abandon pacifiscm and go for the throat mama style. I can only imagine how they get their kicks with adults.
