Stop playing politics with working families. A two dollar raise might not mean anything to you, but since poor people spend every last penny of their paychecks on survival, that extra $16/day is a big deal. Don't believe me? I dare you to live on $206/week. For one week. Just one. And that's not a salary wage. So if you decide to call in sick, or late, or busy, or bored, you only get credit for the time that you're actually working. Which means that many of you are stuck with $123.60. Before deductions. Enjoy.

It makes me sick that the bureaucrats screw around with the working poor like this. And that John Q. Public begrudges a pathetic $2 raise to people working their butts off at menial jobs catering to the needs of the rest of society.
They are more concerned about protecting businesses than the American worker. Sorry bastards indeed!
The long time argument of the Republicans has been "the minimum wage was never intended to be a living standard." Noooo S.....! Per them, it's a "get started wage." Apparently you don't live while you're "getting started."
Sadly, it is a living standard for a lot of people.
They're too narrow-minded to know (or think) that the working poor will only spend every nickel of that raise, because they haven't had one in so long it's ridiculous.
All that money goes right back into the economy.
